Rehab questions answered.
1) How does Rehab Logic define Early Intervention?
Swift independent assessment of need, leading to the therapies essential
to an injured person’s chances of physical and mental recovery – without
waiting for settlement of their case.
2) Did Rehab Logic pioneer the concept of Early Intervention?
No – but we certainly applauded the initiative. Early Intervention
is all about common sense – which is at the core of the Rehab
Logic philosophy.
3) Has Rehab Logic developed the benefits of Early Intervention?
As the leading independent provider of Early Intervention, the answer
has to be Yes.
4) Does Rehab Logic endorse the findings of the Rehabilitation Code?
Yes. Published by the International Underwriting Association and
APIL (the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) the Code covers
key aspects of Early Intervention, Rehabilitation and medical treatment
in personal injury cases.
5) Can Rehab Logic supply me with a copy of the report?
Yes. Simply contact:
rl@rehabilitationspecialists.com
6) Has Rehab Logic got a vested interest in the report?
No. We are completely independent of all vested interests.
7) What part does a Rehab Logic report play in litigation?
None initially. Our reports and recommendations are geared to aiding
the recovery of the injured party. Early Intervention documentation
should be kept separate from litigation and no one involved in
the assessment or the report should be a compellable witness in
court.
However...
Once the parties have agreed that a particular regime of rehabilitation
or treatment should be undertaken, case management of that regime
falls outside the remit of the Rehabilitation Code.
Any notes and reports created from now on will be subject to the
usual principles governing the disclosure of documents and medical
records relating to the claimant.
And any person involved in the treatment regime becomes a compellable
Witness of Fact.
For the full story, refer back to Question 5.
8) Does Rehab Logic provide
assessments and reports throughout the UK?
Yes.
9) How are your Early Intervention teams
structured?
Each team comprises an Assessor and several Consultants. The emphasis
is on flexibility and often, the specialisms of individual team
members are geared to the specific needs of the claimant.
The Assessor initially visits the claimant, assesses their needs
and prepares a report that details and costs them.
Once the recommended actions have been agreed by the parties concerned,
one of our Consultants implements them and provides support for the
claimants and their family.
10) What are the main qualifications
of a Rehab Logic Assessor?
1. Apppropriate professional qualifications. 2. Substantial hands-on
experience of the condition(s) specific to the claimant. 3. The ability
to produce accurate, comprehensive, yet concise reports. 4. A lot
of common sense.
11) What are the main qualifications
of a Rehab Logic Consultant?
1. The practical skills essential to assisting the claimant to regain
maximum function in their daily life.
2. Self-motivation. 3. Sufficient knowledge of local facilities and
services to act as a facilitator. 4. A lot of common sense.
12) How does the Rehab Logic network
of consultants function?
We recruit only highly qualified professionals in all our catchment
areas. Whether they work on-staff, or on a consultancy basis, they
receive full administrative back-up from our Head Office. They
are allocated assignments on the basis of appropriate specialism
and logistics.
13) Do all Rehab Logic consultants have
hands-on therapeutic experience?
Yes. And to ensure that is always up-to-date, we insist that their
work for Rehab Logic is in addition to their roles with the NHS,
social services or private health.
14) How does Rehab Logic recruit such
good consultants?
With difficulty, sometimes. But that’s not surprising, since
our standards are so high.
