Early Intervention doesn’t
just help the claimant.
Consider this typical example:
- A 30-year-old male suffers severe injuries
and the other party admits liability. Yet while his claim is
being
negotiated, his
condition – and, in particular, his mental state -
deteriorates further.
- If he is unable to resume what was
a promising career, he may
be awarded compensation amounting to several million pounds.
- But that won’t make him – or anyone else – very
happy. After all, he’s now facing a life of disability
and frustration.
- Yet with the right support, at the right
time, he might be able to pick up at least some of the pieces
of his shattered
life.
- Which would be of priceless benefit to him
and everyone else concerned - including the insurers, for whom
the
ultimate cost might be somewhat
lower.
Not all the problems we solve have quite such radical implications.
But most of them are a matter of urgency.
When whole lives are at stake, the biggest
payout is not always the ultimate goal.
- Early Intervention services ensures that sufferers
receive the right treatment at the right time.
- When their condition
and needs are clarified early, there are fewer
costly surprises later on.
- The resulting transparency
benefits all parties, regardless of litigation.
- Enhanced recovery saves money, as well as
lifestyles.
- As our case histories show, the costs
involved are usually very low – especially
when compared with the alternatives...
Insurers and Lawyers agree with us.
The Rehabilitation Code, drawn up by the Association of Personal
Injury Lawyers and the International Underwriting Association summarises
best practice in Early Intervention.
It seeks to ensure that the representatives of claimants and insurers
work together to enhance the physical/mental well-being of clients.
As the UK’s leading independent provider of Early Intervention assessments and services,
we applaud this initiative.
